The undergraduate programmes are composed of theoretical lectures, classroom seminars and practical work in form of series of tasks and workshops.
UNDERGRADUATE STUDY

ACADEMIC YEAR AND THE LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION
The academic year consists of a summer and a winter semester. Lectures, seminars, group and individual exercises are divided between the two semesters, while exams in the majority of subjects are held on an annual basis. Practical subjects and exercises in the theatre department (acting, directing, etc.) are organized in rotating semester cycles. Practical subjects and exercises in the film department (directing of documentaries, fiction films, television dramas, etc.) are organized in annual cycles. In the main theoretical subjects students are expected to write and present papers for discussion.
The winter semester starts on October 1 and lasts until mid-January. The winter holiday season includes three weeks reserved for semestral exams. The summer semester starts in mid-February and lasts until the end of May. The summer exams are held in June, while the autumn exams in September.
Lectures, seminars and exercises (workshops) are held in Slovene language. Individual work may be done in one of the major international languages. An active knowledge of Slovene is required for students wishing to participate as actors in theatre productions of the Academy.
