Interdisciplinary doctoral study programme in Humanities and Social Sciences is coordinated by the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Social Sciences and carried out in cooperation with the Academy of Music, Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Faculty of Theology, and Faculty of Social Work. The duration of the study programme is 4 years (240 ECTS).
Within the framework of this joint PhD study programme AGRFT coordinates two fields of study:
Performing Arts Studies
The aim of the programme is to produce highly trained scientists, researches, theorists, writers, critics, and teachers in the field of performing arts studies. The programme encourages the use of contemporary theoretical approaches and exploring new research topics in performing arts history and theory.
Film and Television Studies
The aim of the programme is to produce highly trained scientists, researchers, theorists, writers, critics, and teachers in the field of film and television studies. The programme focuses on issues of reception, aesthetics, psychology, sociology, economics and politics with a special emphasis on documenting and historicising the contemporary (especially local) field of film and television production.
